The South Wessex Coastal Path

South Wessex Cosastal Path way mark

The 630 miles long South West Coast Path goes from Poole Harbour in Dorset, along the coast through Dorset, South Devon, Cornwall, North Devon and North Somerset, to  Minehead in Somerset.

The section through West Dorset is part of the Jurassic Coast and is of World Heritage status. It goes from Portland along 17 miles of shingle of Chesil Beach and then sea cliffs to Lyme Regis, via West Bay (the closest section to Beaminster), Golden Cap (the highest point along the south coast) and the fossil-rich cliffs of Charmouth and Lyme.
