The Liberty Trail

The Liberty Trail follows the 28 mile historic route from Ham Hill (one of the largest Iron Age hill forts in Europe) in south Somerset to of Lyme Regis in Dorset.

It recreates the journey of villagers from Somerset and Dorset who walked to Lyme Regis in 1685 to show their support for the Monmouth Rebellion.

The trails passes a few miles north of Beaminster at Misterton and then swings west past Lambert’s Castle and southwest to Chard and Lyme Regis.
